The Murray Family set up a new Foundation in 2017 to make charitable donations to their chosen causes which are listed below:

  • The relief of distress of any person who has suffered the loss of a limb or part of a limb as the result of a traumatic incident.
  • The advancement of health and, in particular, support for cancer charities;
  • The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage;
  • To promote such similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions and in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit.

Foundation follow-On Policy

The Foundation appreciates the significant amount of work done by charities during the donation application process. The Foundation also understands the benefits of developing a relationship with each charity it supports.

In terms of any support beyond the first successful application, the Foundation has decided it will consider further follow-on requests for support in the 2nd and 3rd year of the relationship. However, beyond this timeframe, the Foundation will not consider any further support of the charity for a period of at least 3 years.

The above policy does not include any application for a multi-year project which will be appraised on its own merits.

The above policy is guidance only and at all times the Foundation reserves the right to apply a different approach.

All grants are made at the discretion of the Trustees and their decision is final.

The Trustees of the Foundation are Sir David Murray, David D Murray, Keith Murray, Andrew Godfrey and Craig McDermid. The Trustees will meet quarterly to consider any applications.
